PEDI CULTURAL VILLAGE : Entabeni Safari Conservancy
The authentic Pedi cultural village at Entabeni Safari Conservancy in the Waterberg offers an opportunity to visit one of the most unique cultural sites in Southern Africa.
Guests can obtain an authentic glimpse into the lives, celebrations and traditions of one of South Africa’s indigenous tribes while embarking on a journey that traverses four periods of the Pedi people’s history and features the archeological and anthropological heritage of the area.
NDEBELE CULTURAL VILLAGE : ZEBRA COUNTRY LODGE
Taking a new slant on cultural villages, the Ndebele Village at Zebra Country Lodge traces the development of the area’s Southern Ndebele culture starting in the late stone age and progressing to present day.
The Ndebele culture’s distinctively colourful dress and the bright, happy geometric designs on the homes are easily recognisable. The highly colourful and intricately painted artwork was done by internationally renowned artist Esther Mahlangu who resides in the village with her family.
A visit will include a tour interpreting the heritage, life, arts, architecture, history and spirited festivals of the Ndebele people specifically the Ndzundza tribe.
